BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (TCN) — A 30-year-old woman was arrested after she reportedly ran over the father of her children at a birthday party and Easter celebration while the kids were present, killing him.

According to the Birmingham Police Department, on April 20 at 9:50 p.m., officers received a call about shots fired at a home on Lisa Lane, then soon learned a “female was trying to run over a male at the scene.” Police arrived and found a car that had collided with the house, and a man who had been trapped between the two. Fire department and EMS officials got to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Police said there was a “large birthday party and Easter celebration” at the house. The victim, Mickese Bostic, has children with the suspect, Shatice Jackson. They allegedly became “involved in a domestic-related argument” that resulted in the female suspect retrieving a gun and shooting at the house. The suspect and Bostic both exited the home, then the female allegedly got into her car and “intentionally ran over the male victim.”

“At least one” of their children reportedly witnessed the incident, which police called “chaotic.”

Jackson was arrested and is being charged with capital murder.
