Mich. man convicted of attacking 80-year-old in locker room, knocking him unconscious

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (TCN) — A 21-year-old man was convicted of assaulting an elderly man inside a YMCA locker room, requiring the victim to be hospitalized.

Smith fled the YMCA, but law enforcement later located him and took him into custody. The victim was hospitalized for critical injuries.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald called it a “vicious, senseless attack,” adding, “The victim was left unconscious and bleeding, and he had to be hospitalized after this assault.”
