PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (TCN) — Authorities recently charged a 38-year-old man on suspicion of beating his 44-year-old girlfriend to death and hiding her body under concrete.
According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, on April 24, officers performed a welfare check at the home of Michael McClanahan and his girlfriend, Sherron Turner. Responding officers discovered Turner’s remains “wrapped in plastic and partially covered in concrete.”
An autopsy reportedly revealed Turner died of blunt force trauma, and her death was ruled a homicide. Police identified McClanahan as the primary suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of first- and second-degree murder, as well as a charge related to the disposal of his girlfriend’s body.
McClanahan is already in custody in Washington, D.C., after police arrested him on April 25 for unrelated charges. According to WJLA-TV, camera footage at a Walmart allegedly captured McClanahan “placing objects on his person,” and then he stabbed a victim while officers placed him in handcuffs. He will be extradited back to Prince George’s County to face the murder charges.
