INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. (TCN) — A 70-year-old man who entered a plea deal in March for sex crimes was arrested this week for allegedly soliciting someone to kill his former underage “sex slave.”
Court records show Andrew Mustapick was arrested May 5 on two counts of soliciting another to tamper with a victim and is being held on $7 million bond.
The case goes back to 2021, when he was arrested for sexual activity with a minor. He entered a plea deal in March and was scheduled to be sentenced in June.
Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers said in a press conference that as part of the no contest plea, Mustapick would have served one year in prison — or less for good behavior — and 10 years of sex offender probation. He reportedly began a sexual relationship with an underage girl and created a “deal” with her where she would have sex with him and he would buy her friend a car.
Treasure Coast News reports people who knew the victim, who was 17 years old at the time, described her as a “sex slave” for Mustapick.
According to his arrest warrant, between March 13 and April 30, Mustapick allegedly communicated with someone and asked them to kill the victim from the 2021 case because he did not want her to testify against him. The sheriff’s office said Mustapick later changed his mind and asked the person he was speaking with to bribe or extort her instead. Mustapick reportedly paid the person $25,000.
Around the same time as his plea deal, Flowers said a “hero” family member reached out to investigators and informed them of Mustapick’s plans. Flowers brought in an undercover deputy from another county, and Mustapick allegedly paid him $20,000. He offered an extra $50,000 to kill the girl if she refused to comply.
Video provided to “True Crime News” from the Indian County Sheriff’s Office shows Mustapick and the undercover agent discussing fees on May 1. Mustapick says, “It would be easier, it would be cheaper just to f–king kill her, right?”
A second video allegedly shows Mustapick throwing electronics off a bridge into the Sebastian River. The sheriff’s office also provided photos of a computer and other electronics submerged in water, as well as the search warrant crumpled in a trash can.
Flowers commended the family member who came forward, saying, “We would not be here today without that person.”
According to WPBF-TV, Flowers described Mustapick as an “absolute animal.”
Mustapick had his first court appearance May 6, and was ordered not to have any contact with the victim.
